Alexander McQueen show was buzzing .Once again Sarah Burton showed her
greatness of the McQueen esthetic, its corseted
shapes, structured suiting and skeletal hoop
skirted style, and everything bee related.
The models' heads were covered in archly beekeepers' veils.
The clothes refracted
a honeycomb motif through a dozen
wasp-waisted guises, bound, haltered, and harnessed
in a tortoiseshell.
The femininity was in full effect in the evening wear with hoop-skirted
gowns
overflowing with blooms that would entice any bee hunting for
sweet nectar.
The only criticism of this collection could be that at no point did it feel like ready to wear.
The show should have been moved to its rightful place on the haute couture calendar.
